Artificial Intelligence is transforming precision agriculture by enhancing crop monitoring, optimizing resource utilization, and improving decision-making processes. However, ensuring trustworthiness in AI-driven agricultural systems remains a critical challenge. This PhD scholarship will focus on developing reliable, interpretable, and ethical AI models tailored for precision farming applications. Key research areas include fairness, robustness, explainability, and human-AI collaboration to enhance farmer confidence in AI-driven recommendations. The candidate will explore novel methodologies for validating AI models, mitigating biases, and integrating domain knowledge with data-driven approaches. We invite applications from candidates with a background in AI, machine learning, and robotics applied to the agritech domain. This research will contribute to the responsible adoption of AI in agriculture, ensuring sustainability and increased food security.
