This research aims to create urban Digital Twins designed to support Climate Change Mitigation (CCM) and Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) simulations and activities in urban environments. The PhD project should leverage multi-scale geospatial data (remote sensing/aerial imagery, point clouds, maps, etc.) and GeoAI methods and GIS tools to create 3D environments that integrate high-resolution 3D urban models with climate-resilience objectives. This should help policymakers and citizens optimize energy-efficiency processes for operational carbon reduction (mitigation) and simulate microclimate interventions to reduce heatwave vulnerability (adaptation).
